Todd Bidners Bio

At the age of 16 centre Todd Bidner ‘Bidsy’ played hockey with his hometown Petrolia Jets in Junior B before moving on to the Toronto Marlboros of the OMJHL in 1978-79.  After his second season with the Marlies, where he counted 48 points in 68 games, Bidner was selected in round six, 110th overall by the Washington Capitals in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft.  Bidner returned to the Marlies for his final year of junior eligibility in 1980-81 where he averaged better than a point per game.  He also played in his first pro game with the Hershey Bears of the AHL that season.

In 1981-82 Bidner was called up for 12 games with the Washington Capitals where he had two goals and three points.  Bidner played four years in the minors before trying his hand in the British League where he was a dominant offensive force.  He netted 71 goals and 123 points in 31 season games and added another 18 goals in eight games with the Fife Flyers.  His best offensive season came in 1986-87 when he had 79 goals and 112 assists for 191 points in 29 games with the Peterborough Petes.  Bidner enjoyed a long career in Britain, playing a total of 19 seasons there.  In 2000-01 Bidner returned to Petrolia and played with the Squires of the OHA Senior A League.

Todd pursued post-secondary education to provide himself with alternatives after his hockey career.   Todd received a BSc.(Hon) degree in Sports Science in 1997.   He applies this sport specific knowledge in his current training at Skill Shots.
